Historical Photos
Trying to find old pictures of Hotel Hastings has been no easy task, but we’ve managed to find a few. Take a peak at the captions to see dates of the photos and more information.
2016
The year the Pieper’s bought the Hotel, most of our pictures from this year were simply to document the condition of Hotel Hastings.
2017
Not much work was done this year, William was deployed to Afghanistan for 8 months with the Air National Guard 133rd Airlift Wing. Steph completed some much needed cleanup work.
2018
A big year for the Hotel, a new basement. New wiring was added, connected and more restoration work.
2019
More finishing up, Electrical outlets installed and lights. Closing up any open space to the outside. Sheetrock and wallboard installation. Brand new windows in the basement were installed.
2020
A new metal roof was added this year, along with a plumbed in toilet. More objects were found stuffed in attic walls and floorboards. The attic finally got a little attention with wall torn down and redone.
2021
Dinning room was a main focus this year along with the upstairs bathrooms. Fully working floor heat was installed. The Hotel also hosted an open house.
2022
A dinning room floor made from reclaimed wood was put in. The Pieper’s stayed long into winter at the hotel. Progress was made in attic and bathrooms. Lots of small projects were finished up.
2023
Snow couldn’t keep the Piepers from working hard. Upstairs bathroom was a main focus. A 2nd floor deck was installed and with much help from friends and family the Hotel is inching closer to opening it’s doors. WADY news also ran a story on the Hotel.
2024
2024 was full of family and tile! The Hotel hosted the Kohls family reunion and enjoyed a few overnight stays. The Piepers completed the kitchen as well as both the 2nd and 1st floor bathrooms, bringing the hotel into a modern era.
2025
In 2025 the Hotel opened for coffee on Mondays!
